Speck & Burke has been servicing gas systems and laboratory instrumentation across the UK for over 30 years. We're based in Scotland, but Land's End to John o' Groats is genuinely our patch, not a slogan. Engineers are on the road across the country most weeks.
We're one of the only companies in the country that runs the whole job start to finish: gas system installation, ongoing compliance inspections, and servicing the instruments the gas actually feeds, GC, HPLC, mass spec. Most gas suppliers stop at the cylinder. We don't, because the two sides of the job are connected, and treating them separately is how customers end up with tubing that's the wrong size for the flow rate they need, or a system nobody's checked against the instrument it's running.
That's the part customers notice most. An engineer who understands what a GC needs from its gas supply asks different questions than one who's only ever installed pipework, and gives different advice.
We work across universities, pharmaceutical labs, food and drink manufacturers, and forensic labs, including ongoing gas system management for research sites at King's College London. The equipment is often near-identical across those sectors even where the industries look nothing alike from the outside. That's why the same team can move between a university chemistry department and a pharma QC lab without missing a beat.
Once we're working with a customer, we tend to stay working with them. Ten or fifteen year relationships aren't unusual here. We can't think of a single customer who's left because they were unhappy with the work.
You'll speak to someone who already understands what you're dealing with, not a call centre reading from a script.
